Coto De Caza Crash – Ready Set Go Logistics Delivery Van

A delivery van passed on my left and without engaging the turn signals started to perform a right hand turn into a side street. I shifted slight left into the middle of the lane to give myself some room as the van completed the turn. The driver stopped making the turn and proceeding to make a sharp left into the path of my bicycle. From my Garmin data, I had less than 2 seconds from the time the van was going right to the time he was in front of me. In the CHP police report, the driver lied to the office and mentioned that he had his left turn signal engaged and that I passed him on the left crossing over the yellow line. Well the best part oh the Cycliq video is that I can prove that he is lying. I have contacted a law firm and I have sent the video to CHP. My injuries were minimal but my bike and helmet will need to be replaced. I am lucky to be alive after hitting the side of stationary vehicle at 31MPH.
