Didn’t give way at a stop sign

Driver rolled through a stop sign and failed to give way, forcing me into the middle of the road to avoid him. He then tried to self-justify his actions by abusing me for not using an adjacent bike path - the very path I'd intended to use until he blocked entry to it by failing to stop. And a P-plater, seriously??.
