Late cut in and then brake check

Everyone was doing the right thing...
I was riding behind cars and not trying to ride beside (it's quite narrow there). And then a P-plater in a wagon (rego WLS850) decides to accelerate past me and push in unnecessarily. And then does a stupid brake check (why?) and then runs a red light (maybe he was embarrassed and tried to get away?).
