Motorist in protected cycle lane

Motorist couldn't be bothered waiting in his lane for his left turn, so decided to drive into the protected cycle lane to get to his left turn quicker. I filed a police report and was told the driver could expect a letter in the post reminding him of his responsibilities as a driver.
